We took the SeaBus from our Holland America ship from the new port where we were docked to downtown and back. Our trip was prepaid because we were on a HAL tour. Unfortunately, the boats were overcrowded and there were fairly long lineups. I don't think that they really had the capacity to deal with the added volume from the cruise ship.
Hey, there is something cheap on Mykonos !!! This ferry is all in one: convenient transport for those island hopping who need a transport to/from the new port, a nice ride to see Mykonos from the sea, and it's cheap at 2 Euros pp.
€2 a trip transport from the cruise terminal to the old port. Regular and cheap and felt safe and certainly more fun than a bus or similar land transport. Good views of the island and the post whilst going out and great views of your cruise ship when on return journey. Obviously sit on the top for the best views.
You have to take the Sea Pass from the ship to the city, very cheap and worth the price. It operates most of the day going back and forth, Drops you off on a seaside shore where you can travel up and down the back streets.
I'm not sure whether this is considered a tourist attraction, but it is most certainly the best way to get from the new port into the old town! The SeaBus kiosk is only a few minutes walk from where the ferries and cruise ships dock, and at 2euros, it is significantly cheaper than a regular taxi or transfer. In the summer, I think they run about every 30 minutes. It drops you off right next to Vegera restaurant, so if you're staying in the old town, it's an easy and affordable way to travel in from the port.
We used the Seabus to get back to our hotel near the the marina from Mykonos town. It was only 2€ and very efficient. The views of the coastline between were good.
Using Sea bus you have the opportunity to visit town of Mykonos quicker, you don't have to circle for parking!! Just leave your car by the port and off you go!! A 10 minute ride worth all 2 euros!!!
We caught the bus from Mykonos town harbour just to enjoy the view of the town from to top of the boat. The ticket to the new port is €2. The new port is where all the cruise ships dock and has no facilities beyond that. It was about a 15 minute trip with a stop at the bus station in between. We enjoyed sitting on top of the boat and enjoyed the views on the sun. The young guy taking your ticket is very rude and grumpy and needs a lesson in customer service. He shouted at us both times we got on as he didn’t understand our destination. He also watched elderly ladies gingerly getting off the boat which has no handrails and he simply muttered under his breath, rather than offer a hand. Great boat ride but that guy needs a word!!
We took the Fast Ferry from Mykonos to Santorini and had Platinum seating which we were told from our travel agent that booked it for us that they take your luggage and store it for you. Well, they do NOT! We were informed they have no where to do that so we stuck it in a line with everyone else's. We Were also told to be there an hour early to board - well, that was a joke. You stand outside in a long line with your luggage while the wind blows your head off until the ferry arrives and disembarks the passengers on it. Then everyone makes there way shoving and pushing to get on. It was absolutely like a herd of cattlel!! There were no signs to tell you where to go but it was upstairs where you have to show your tickets and they direct you where to go. Other than that, our seats were great, reclined with a foot rest, and the ride was smooth and quick. Thank goodness we had a private car picking us up because they were waiting when we exited and helped us with our luggage and walked us to the waiting vehicle. I would hate to have been taking a taxi....again, it was a madhouse with people getting off, trying to get transportation, rent a car, etc. I would not hesitate to take the ferry again. I would just know what to expect next time. The 1st is always difficult when you are from another country, All in all it was an experience but a great way to travel from Island to Island in Greece.
We’re on Jewel of the sea and walked right off the ship a saw the sign for seabus. We paid 2 euros and were taken to the city center of Mykonos. It was a smooth and efficient ride with plenty of seats. They arrive about every 20 to 30 minutes.
For just a couple of Euro each, these water buses will take you from the cruise terminal and drop you off at Mykonos town. They run frequently and I would definitely recommend them.
why are there NO taxis on Mykonos - horrendous queues both at the airport and the port when we returned from Naxos - this boat at least took us to Mykonos town - unfortunately still no taxis but pleasant ride
it was really nice experiance during my greece trip. i would suggest all travellers to try them once. on time, good service. no fuss about anything. very professional

Comfortable and cheap service, only 2 euros to get from old port to new port. Generally are on time and frequent.

What a great way to travel across the town. Comfortable, timely, relaxing, economical. Wish we could be regular customers.
Jan
For sure it must be done, basically for the views to the bay. A short 8' trip at the funny price of €2, disclosing another perspective of the city.

We stayed in between the old port and new port so it was fun to take a trip across and see the old town from the sea. Great memories!

We used this many times. It was an easy and great way to get from the ferries/harbor to Old Town, bus station and other things.
Craig
Our cruise ship docked in new port and we took this boat to old port to visit old town and Delos island. Very comfortable ride and timely service.
Dan
Economical service, clean. efficient, great views across the harbor and hillside with the remnants of ancient wall and the modern houses beneath.
Scottie
Easy to deal with, which was great because I am not an experienced traveler.
Mary
Excellent way to commute between the old and new port and value for money.

Such a pleasant way to move! You get easily to the new Port and you can enjoy the sun on the deck during your 10 minutes ride.
